Temma Levis Selected Second-Team All-Atlantic Region Pitcher

NFCA All-Region release

HAVERFORD, Pa. – After a record-breaking season, the postseason honors continue to pour in for Temma Levis as the Fords' pitcher was named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) second-team All-Atlantic Region. Levis' honor makes her just the fourth player in program history to earn all-region status.

With her newest honor, Levis is also the highest-ranked all-region player in program history as Sarah Nagle '06, Nora Spriggs '06, Kristin Tatum '16 were each named third-team at-large representatives during their career from one of the toughest regions in Division III. Levis is also the first player in program history to earn recognition solely for her pitching efforts as Spriggs did spend time in the circle throughout her career but did most of her damage in the field and at the plate during her 2006 Centennial Conference Player of the Year campaign.

Levis was one of a program-record four softball players who earned first-team All-Centennial Conference this spring. Levis earned first-team All-CC honors as a junior after honorable mention accolades in 2018. The Fords' captain dominated in the circle with a perfect 10-0 record and one save during the Centennial Conference regular season. She led the Centennial with a 1.15 ERA in those conference clashes.

Finishing the year with a 1.38 ERA, opponents batted just .173 in conference against the Fords' junior. Levis finished her season 18-3 overall on her way to setting the program's record for wins in a season. She pitched three shutouts, locking down Dickinson and Gettysburg in addition to her no-hitter against the University of New England. For good measure, Levis batted .316 on the year in the middle of the Haverford lineup.

In addition to breaking the school record with 18 victories, opponents hit just .208 against Levis to rank second in school history only behind Sara Tauriello '16 as opponents hit just .173 against Tauriello during her 2014 season. Levis' 1.38 ERA this year ranks behind only Tauriello who posted a 0.89 ERA in 2014 and followed that up with a 1.35 ERA in 2015. Heading into her senior season, Levis has won 33 games to already rank fourth in school history. She has recorded five total shutouts to rank third all-time while her 2.53 career ERA is fifth in school history.

Softball finished its 2019 campaign with a 28-12 record to come within one victory of breaking the program record which was set in 2014. Haverford went 13-3 in Centennial Conference play during the regular season and advanced to the championship game against Dickinson before falling in 1-0 battles during both contests against the Red Devils. Haverford hosted the Centennial Conference Tournament for just the second time in school history (2006) after finishing in first place in the conference's regular season standings.
