Previous College: Saint Joseph's '15

Ashley Alden has joined the Haverford College softball team as an assistant coach prior to the 2017 season. Alden comes to Haverford after a decorated playing career at Division I Saint Joseph’s. While at St. Joe’s, Alden was a two-time NFCA all-region selection.

Alden set the Hawks’ team record for home runs in single season during her senior campaign and also led the team in hits, runs, RBI, slugging percentage, and walks during her playing career. She transferred to Saint Joseph’s after playing two years at Rutgers.

In the classroom, she a three-time NFCA All-American Scholar-Athlete. Alden also played lacrosse for one season as a graduate student where she earned mention on the IWLCA/Zag Sports Division I Academic Honor Roll. During her time at Saint Joseph’s, Alden was also a Student-Athlete Advisory Committee Board member and was elected to the Center for Developing Everyday Champions Leadership Board.

Following her undergraduate years, Alden remained with the Hawks as a Strength & Conditioning Graduate Assistant where she was responsible for strength training for five of the varsity teams. She also spent time as a strength and conditioning coach at the Jim Watson Hockey Academy where she focused on weightlifting, speed, and agility training.

The former Saint Joseph’s team captain has also spent time coaching at numerous camps and clinics. Most recently, she has been an instructor with Trust Softball Competition where she helped athletes prepare for college and guide them through the recruiting process. She also spent three years with Extreme Dimensions Softball and was a camp counselor for Nike.

Alden is currently pursuing her Master’s Degree in Organizational Development and Leadership at Saint Joseph’s.
