HAVERFORD, Pa. – The Haverford College women's basketball team followed up its most successful season on the court by completing its most successful season in the classroom. The Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) announced its Academic Top 25 Team Honor Rolls and for just the third time in program history the Fords were ranked among the top 25 NCAA Division III teams.

The Fords' team GPA tied them for 16th in NCAA Division III along with the University of Northwestern. This ranking also eclipsed the previous two marks from the 1999 and 2000 seasons when the Fords were 23rd and 21st in the nation, respectively. The team GPA includes all student-athletes on the roster for the entire season.

In addition to being the only team in the Centennial Conference to earn recognition on the WBCA Top 25 Academic Honor Roll, the Fords were one of just eight programs in Division III that earned recognition on the top 25 list and qualified for the NCAA Tournament.

Women's basketball had four players named to the Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll during the winter: Rachel Baskin, Pallavi Juneja, Jacquelyne Pizzuto, and Shannon Smith.

The Fords also won their first-ever Centennial Conference Championship with a 66-56 win over Johns Hopkins. That victory gave Haverford an automatic bid and its first-ever appearance at the NCAA Tournament. The Fords would ultimately advance to the second round with a 53-48 win over Rhode Island College in their NCAA debut.
