Defending Centennial Conference Champions Announce 2014-15 Schedule

Women's Basketball Schedule

Haverford, Pa. – The Haverford College women's basketball team released its 2014-15 schedule. The defending Centennial Conference Champions will play 25 games during the upcoming regular season, 14 of those contests will be held inside Calvin Gooding '84 Arena.

The Fords open their season at the Gwynedd Mercy Tip Off tournament (Nov. 15-16). The home portion of the schedule opens with a non-conference tilt vs. Scranton on Nov. 18. The Lady Royals of Scranton won the Landmark Conference tournament and went to the third round of the NCAA tournament last season.

Head coach Bobbi Morgan's squad starts Centennial Conference play vs. Dickinson (Nov. 22) and Muhlenberg (Nov. 25). Both of those home games will feature a doubleheader with the Haverford men's basketball team playing immediately after.

The Fords welcome Commonwealth Conference foe Elizabethtown to the Gooding Arena on Dec. 6. Elizabethtown won 20 games last and went 14-4 in conference play.  Continuing their non-conference schedule, Haverford takes on Immaculata which won 19 games and was the Colonial State Athletic Conference runner-up. The two teams squared off last season with Haverford coming up with a 60-53 victory on the road (Jan. 26).

The defending Centennial Conference Champions wrap up their non-conference slate vs. Washington and Lee (Jan. 4) and Bryn Mawr (Jan. 15).

Haverford gets its first chance against conference rival Johns Hopkins when the Blue Jays visit the Gooding Arena on Jan. 7. The Blue Jays took both regular season games last year, but the Fords got the ultimate revenge when they defeated the conference foe 66-56 in Centennial Conference tournament final. The two teams also square up again at Johns Hopkins on Jan. 31.

Haverford wraps up the regular season with three of its last four games at home. After taking on Washington College (Feb. 11) and Gettysburg (Feb. 14), the team heads to Ursinus (Feb. 18) before the regular season finale vs. Swarthmore (Feb. 21).  The Centennial Conference tournament begins on Feb. 25.

Morgan is entering her seventh season on the Haverford sidelines during the 2014-15 season. She led her team to program-best 24-4 record last season, including a 15-3 record in the Centennial Conference. That regular season conference mark earned Haverford the right to host the conference tournament for the first time in team history. The Fords would go on to win the conference tournament on their home floor and advance to the NCAA Tournament's second round in their first appearance at the national tournament.
