HAVERFORD, Pa. - The Haverford College women's basketball team has checked in seventh in the second set of NCAA Mid-Atlantic Region rankings released on Wednesday.

These rankings ultimately lead up to the selection of at-large bids to the NCAA Tournament. The penultimate regional rankings will be released on Wednesday, February 21 before the final rankings are compiled on Sunday, February 25 and released as part of the announcement of the 64-team tournament field on Monday, February 26.

Haverford is currently 19-5 overall this season and enters the final regular season contest tonight with a 15-4 mark in Centennial Conference action. Haverford is 3-2 against teams that have appeared in the regional rankings thus far this season, notching wins over Gettysburg, Muhlenberg and The Sage Colleges while falling in close battles to the Bullets and Mules.

Following a Wednesday night tilt with Hood Trophy rival Swarthmore, the Fords will open up the Centennial Conference tournament on Friday, February 23 against No. 25 Muhlenberg on the neutral floor at Gettysburg College. The start time for the contest is to yet be announced.

Scranton (1), Messiah (2), Juniata (3), Marymount (Va.) (4), Christopher Newport (5), Gettysburg (6) and Albright (8) are the other ranked teams in Wednesday's Mid-Atlantic regional ranking release.

Haverford last obtained a regional ranking during the stellar 2013-14 campaign that saw Haverford finish with a 24-4 overall mark and a 15-3 mark in conference competition. The Fords were ranked third in each of the rankings releases en-route to a second round spot in the NCAA tournament.
