LANCASTER, Pa. - The Haverford College women's basketball team (5-2, 2-0 CC) picked up a midweek road win at the Mayser Center on the campus of Franklin & Marshall Wednesday, defeating the host Diplomats (3-4, 2-2 CC) by a final score of 71-61. Playing in her hometown of Lancaster, junior shooting guard Julianna Clark poured in 29 points, the most for a Haverford player in more than a decade, to lead all scorers while tying the Haverford single-game program record for three-pointers made with seven. As a team, Haverford knocked down 11 three-pointers, tied for the second-most in program history, and shot 55 percent from three-point range, tied for the fourth-best mark in team history.

The 29-point performance from Clark is also tied for the seventh-most points in program single-game history, with Brittany Lattisaw '09 the last to reach the mark in January 2009. Clark eclipsed Elizabeth Lynch '15 with her seventh three-pointer of the night, as Lynch knocked down six in January of 2014.

Clark was one of three Haverford scorers in double figures, with senior Hannah Zoll adding a career-best 11 points to a career-high eight rebounds in a standout performance while senior Anna-Sophia Capizzi finished with 10 second half points. Junior Nyla Robinson had another well-rounded effort at point guard, dishing out five assists, collecting seven rebounds, and grabbing two steals.

The Fords began the contest on a 5-0 run, with Clark adding an early three-pointer before Megan Furch poured in a layup. Franklin & Marshall answered with a quick 5-0 spurt of its own, knotting the contest at 5-5. A Lauren Howard trey later opened up a 14-9 advantage for Haverford with 2:48 to go in the opening quarter. Cortlyn Morris drove to the bucket to extend the lead to seven at 16-9 in the closing moments of the period.

A Kenna Williams bucket cut the Haverford advantage to just four at 17-13 with 7:33 to play in the second, but Clark again connected from downtown with just under six minutes remaining, extending the Fords lead back to nine at 22-13. Howard then sent in her second of the day from three-point range, giving the Fords a 25-17 lead with under four minutes to play. The Diplomats closed the stanza on a 5-0 run, pulling to within just three points, at 27-24 entering the intermission.

Clark remained hot from beyond the arc out of the halftime gates, connecting from long range twice in the first two minutes of the third quarter to bring Haverford to a 33-26 lead. A 10-4 run from Franklin & Marshall later tied the score at 39-39, but the Fords opened up a 7-2 run as Capizzi scored ahead of a pair of layups from Zoll to close out the third. The run hit 9-2 entering the fourth, as Robinson connected on a runner for a seven-point lead at 48-41. Clark notched her fifth triple of the contest with just 7:52 to go, giving the Fords an eight point cushion at 51-43.

The Diplomats struck back with another late 5-0 run, but Capizzi knocked down a trey to give the Fords a seven-point cushion entering the final five minutes of regulation. Clark added her sixth three-pointer of the night, giving the Fords a 10-point lead with 3:58 remaining. The record-breaking seventh three from Clark came with 3:06 to go, putting the Fords up 11 at 63-51. Clark added a late layup in the closing minute, as Franklin & Marshall attempted to extend the game at the free-throw line. Emily Moran paced three Diplomats in double figures, while Kenna Williams (14 points, 12 rebounds) and Kristin Hamil (14 points, 10 rebounds) each tallied double-doubles for the hosts. The defending Centennial Conference champions have now won 15 straight matchups against the Diplomats, a mark that dates back to the 2012-13 season.

The Fords will return to action on Saturday, continuing the road swing with a trip to Dickinson. The contest is slated for a 2 p.m. start and will be followed by the Haverford men taking on the Red Devils at approximately 4 p.m. Women's basketball will then have just one more contest before the winter holiday break, making the trip to Allentown for a battle with Muhlenberg on December 14.
