HAVERFORD, Pa. - The Haverford College women's basketball team (10-2, 7-0 CC) stretched its hot start to Centennial Conference play to seven consecutive wins, cruising to a convincing 65-28 win over Washington College (6-7, 3-5 CC) Thursday evening inside Gooding Arena. Julianna Clark paced all scorers with 27 points and added a game-best seven rebounds to her ledger. Anna-Sophia Capizzi was the only other player in double figures, adding 18 points while collecting six rebounds. Haverford held a commanding 48-27 advantage on the glass.

The Fords began the contest on a 15-2 run, with Clark knocking down back-to-back triples to put an exclamation mark on the scorching start to the contest. Washington College called for timeout, with Crystal Jones firing back with a three-pointer of her own to trim the lead to 10. Cassidy Quattro finished a layup with 23 seconds left in the quarter to cut the lead to 15-7, capping a 5-0 spurt for the visitors.

The points from Quattro were the last Washington College would score in the half, as Haverford blanked the Shorewomen in the second stanza, the first time Haverford has held an opponent scoreless in a quarter since the format was introduced into the women's game in 2015-16. Haverford's methodical run hit 24-0 as the Fords controlled the tempo of the contest and pulled away with a ferocious defensive press, stifling the visitors to the tune of an 0-13 performance from the field. The run was finally stopped by a Jones layup with 6:39 to go in the third.

At that point, the Fords were already content to mix in a group of younger players, giving some reserves valuable conference experience as a Kayla Robinson layup gave the hosts a commanding 39-point lead at 48-9 with 3:32 to go in the period. Capizzi drilled a three-pointer with 7:04 remaining in regulation to give Haverford its largest lead of the contest at 43.

Nine different players scored for Haverford, as Kayla Robinson impressed in a reserve role, pouring in four points and grabbing five rebounds. Eleanor Alix and Gabi Watkins both scored second half buckets for Haverford while Erica Fenton set a new career best with a pair of rebounds.

Women's Basketball has now won 14 straight meetings with Washington College, a streak that also includes eight consecutive wins at home.

The Fords now will shift focus to a highly anticipated rematch of the Centennial Conference championship game from each of the last two seasons. Haverford will welcome Gettysburg (11-1, 7-0 CC) to Gooding Arena for a 1 p.m. showdown. The contest will be followed by the Haverford men hosting the Bullets at approximately 3 p.m.
