BRYN MAWR, Pa. - The Haverford College women's basketball team (16-5, 12-4 CC) won its ninth consecutive contest on Wednesday night inside Schwartz Gymnasium, matching the second-longest winning streak in program history with an 69-33 victory over host Bryn Mawr (4-11, 0-11 CC).

Ally Landau led all scorers with 22 points, while Caroline Andersen had a solid showing off the bench to the tune of nine points and seven rebounds. On the night, Haverford picked up 29 offensive boards to just 11 for the Owls. Kayla Robinson matched a career high with 15 of those caroms as she has now tallied 14 different contests with double-digit rebounds in 2021-22. Cortlyn Morris added 11 boards to a trio of blocks.

Haverford began the contest on a 12-0 run, punctuated by a triple from Landau as Haverford dominated the rhythm of the first stanza. Attacking the rim with aplomb in the first five minutes of action, Landau and Robinson each got to the basket in the early goings with Haverford showcasing its offensive rebounding and ball movement prowess, finding the open shooter with an extra pass or crafty move to open up spaces on the floor.

Landau quickly ran up her point total with 12 points in the first quarter, while Robinson took control on the glass to the tune of seven rebounds in that opening spurt. The lead gallantly hit 20 with Summer Ryan converting a layup off a Morris offensive rebound as the Fords took advantage of that extra possession with 8:16 left in the half.

The lead hovered around 20 for much of the remainder of the opening half, with the Fords taking a commanding 37-13 lead into the intermission behind a game-best 10 rebounds from Robinson and Landau's hot shooting night continuing.

The Fords looked strong in the second half, with the nation's top-ranked scoring defense limiting challenges from the Owls as Morris and Andersen proved to be overwhelming presences in the post. A strong second half from Jessica Smith helped give the hosts some momentum into the midpoint of the third quarter, but a large offensive rebounding advantage helped Haverford maintain their sizable edge in time of possession. Smith finished with 16 points to pace the Owls in a solid night.

Haverford was able to work in a grouping of reserves after Ryan connected to extend the lead to 31 with a minute remaining in the third. Abigail Clark connected on a clutch triple with under two minutes to play in regulation, firing up the Haverford bench and giving the Fords a 38-point cushion. The final margin would eventually close at 36 as the Fords finished out the BiCo road win.

On Saturday, the Fords will head to Baltimore for a key Centennial Conference showdown with Johns Hopkins (16-2, 13-1 CC) as the race seeding in the Centennial Conference tournament heats up into the final few weeks of action. Johns Hopkins has won 12 straight as each team will put its long winning stretch on the line. The contest, which will follow the Haverford men taking on the Blue Jays at 1 p.m., is slated for a 3 p.m. start and will be streamed live via the Centennial Conference Digital Network.
