WESTMINSTER, Md. - The Haverford College women's basketball team (14-6, 11-4 CC) returned to the win column with a road triumph over McDaniel (6-13, 4-10 CC) on Saturday inside Gill Athletics Center, downing the Green Terror by a final score of 56-46 to sweep the season series.

The Fords were paced by Ally Landau, as the guard continued a torrid week with a 27-point, eight rebound performance. Kayla Robinson notched yet another double-double, matching a career high for the second consecutive contest with 19 rebounds to go with 10 points. Cortlyn Morris extended her Centennial Conference blocks lead to 79 with four rejections. Morris has recorded multiple blocks in all but two games this season.

Haverford began the contest on a 7-2 run, as Robinson and Gia Flamini each connected in the stretch after Landau opened the scoring two minutes into regulation. McDaniel stuck around for much of that first stanza, but Cortlyn Morris and Robinson ensured the Fords would end the first 10 minutes with a five-point cushion at 13-8.

Eventually, the Fords built on that lead with a 14-2 run to take a commanding 27-12 advantage midway through the second stanza. Erin Albright connected from distance in that sequence, while Landau made-back-to-back jumpers to put a bow on the spurt. A 7-2 run for the hosts gave McDaniel some life, but Flamini hit both of her shots from the free-throw line in the final six seconds of the half as the Fords went into the intermission up by 10.

An 8-2 run in the third quarter helped Haverford jet out to a 38-25 cushion as Flamini and Robinson each converted from the field in that stretch. Landau took over, guiding Haverford to a 47-32 lead at the end of the third with some crafty finishes as she went 4-of-9 from the field in the frame.

The junior gave the Fords their largest lead of the contest at 17 with a jumper that came with 8:12 left in regulation, but Haverford then found itself in the midst of a prolonged scoreless stretch, as the Fords did not register another field goal for the remainder of the contest. Haverford saw the lead whittled down to just seven with under a minute left, but Landau made the most of opportunities from the free-throw line, knocking down 5-of-8 to help secure the victory. Robinson was also crucial in that fourth quarter, with nine rebounds to help fend off a late Green Terror push.

In total, Haverford held a 47-40 rebounding advantage, and shot 65.4 percent from the line. Overall, Haverford shot 30.6 percent to 31 percent for McDaniel. The starters all saw significant minutes, with each logging at least 27 minutes.  Mallory Conroy logged a double-double for the hosts, with 14 points and 12 rebounds. Elaina Beckett (10 points, 7 rebounds) was the other Green Terror player in double figures while Lil Overcash notched an eight-point, four rebound, four assist game.

The Fords now return to action on Wednesday, February 1 against Bryn Mawr. The contest is slated for 8 p.m. and will follow the men's contest against Ursinus which begins at 6 p.m. The game will showcase Mental Health Awareness night, in conjunction with The Hidden Opponent (THO).
