HAVERFORD, Pa. - The Haverford College women's lacrosse team registered a season-high 16 caused turnovers on its way to a 13-7 Centennial Conference victory over visiting Dickinson College on Saturday afternoon at Swan Field.
The Red Devils (7-4, 2-2 CC) scored the game's first goal in the first minute of action but the Fords (6-5, 2-2) dictated play over the remainder of the half as they registered 18 of the next 25 shots.
Six of Haverford's first-half shots found the back of the net including three from the stick of junior Diana Perry.
Leading 6-3 at the break, the Fords continued to pour it on with three of the first four goals of second-half action.
Maddy Siebold's second of the day moved Dickinson within four (9-5) with 15:18 left on the clock before Haverford scored four of the final six goals of the contest.
Perry finished with a season-high five goals on seven shots to go along with three ground balls, three draw controls and one caused turnover. Senior Megan Gallagher scored three goals while sophomore Christina Gould added a goal and an assist.
Junior Dayna Kim, sophomore Elyse Adler and freshman Maura Grant tallied one goal apiece.
Sarina Manetta led the Fords' standout defensive performance with a career-high four caused turnovers. The freshman midfielder also contributed two assists, two ground balls and two draw controls. Senior Shannon Horn (5-3) earned the win in goal with eight saves.
Given little space to operate by the Haverford defense, the Red Devils registered just eight shots on goal in the second half. Siebold paced the Dickinson attack with three goals on six total shots.
The Fords resume their Centennial schedule next Saturday with a 1 p.m. contest against host Bryn Mawr College.
