IWLCA Release

Haverford, Pa. - Seniors Anne Cullen and Shannon Horn were named to the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Division III Academic Honor Roll on Wednesday (Aug. 20). It's Horn's second time being named to the honor roll while Cullen received the accolade for the first time.

Cullen and Horn are two of the 364 student-athletes from 126 different institutions to be named to D-III honor roll. Honorees must be nominated by their schools, have achieved at least junior status academically and have a cumulative academic GPA of 3.5 or greater. Devon Soucier of Wheaton College was named the 2014 IWLCA Division III Scholar-Athlete of the Year.

The duo was a part of a Haverford College's women's lacrosse team that finished the 2014 campaign at 8-8, 4-5 in the Centennial Conference. Cullen started all 16 games for the Fords, was second on the team in caused turnovers (15) and third on the team in ground balls (23). She finished her Haverford career tied for sixth all-time in games played with 67. Horn, the starting goalkeeper, posted a 7-6 record and made 96 saves last season. For her career, Horn ranked in the program's top ten in wins (sixth), goals against average (seventh) and saves (ninth). Cullen and Horn also were two-time Centennial Conference Spring Academic Honor Roll members.

The Haverford women's lacrosse team was one of 254 schools to receive an IWLCA Academic Honor award. This comes after the team placed seven student-athletes on Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll, the most in the conference.
