Women's Lacrosse Stopped by Rowan

GLASSBORO, N.J. – The Haverford College women's lacrosse team (4-3) was stopped by the Rowan University Profs (5-2) at Coach Wackar Stadium on Wednesday, 12-7. The Profs gained an early advantage that the Fords were never able to overcome despite winning the second half 5-4.

Haverford struggled to find the scoresheet in a first half that included 27 total turnovers between the two teams. Molly Lausten scored first, giving her 17 goals on the season. Just before the break, Elyse Adler gave the Fords their second goal of the game via Christina Gould. Gould, a senior, has a team-high nine assists this year.

The Fords were able to find their usual grove in the second half when they scored five of the game's final eight goals. Midfielder Maura Grant scored two goals within a minute of each other around the midway point. Grant has eight goals on the season including two multi-goal games.

Gould scored the Fords' next two goals, earning her fourth three-point game of the season. She also notched three points against Eastern, Cabrini, and Scranton. Sarina Manetta gave the team its seventh goal with just under two minutes to go.

In net, Megan Chenworth made 12 saves. It was her fourth game with double digit saves this season.

Haverford will take the field again this Saturday as it travels to play No. 6 Gettysburg to kick off Centennial Conference play at 1 p.m. The Fords return home to play on April 2 against McDaniel.
