GETTYSBURG, Pa. - The 25th-ranked Haverford Women's Lacrosse team (9-3, 3-2 CC) was stopped on the road by second-ranked Gettysburg (10-1, 4-1 CC), by a final score of 18-6 Saturday afternoon. The Fords received a pair of goals from Molly Lausten while Rachel Romens made six saves in goal.

Anna Meyers and Noelle Smith were defensive standouts for the Fords. Smith caused two turnovers and collected three ground balls while Meyers also caused two turnovers and scooped one ground ball. Olivia DiRienz and Eliza Brosgol each picked up two draw controls.

The Fords fell behind early as Gettysburg rattled off a 7-0 run to begin play. The Fords tallied to end the run with 15:54 left in regulation, as Sarah Svetec took a pass from Molly Lausten and scored her 12th goal of the season. Rina Rosnow scored her 35th of the season with just under five minutes left in the first half to cut the Gettysburg lead to 8-2 before the Bullets ended the half on a 3-0 run to take an 11-2 lead into the intermission.

In the second half, Allie Gibbons opened the scoring with her 25th of the year on an unassisted strike, and Julia Manetta scored her third with 20:52 left in the half, cutting the Gettysburg advantage to 13-4. Lausten fired the final two goals of the game for the Fords, converting with 12:58 left and scoring the final goal of the contest with under a minute left in regulation to reflect the 18-6 final score with her 33rd and 34th goals of the season, respectively. 

For Gettysburg, Steph Colson won 12 draw controls and tallied five goals. Bailey Pilder picked up the win between the pipes with 10 saves on 16 shots on goal.

The Fords will return to action Wednesday night for a matchup against Washington College, a team undefeated in Centennial Conference play so far this season. Opening draw at Swan Field is slated for 7 p.m. as the two teams will be fighting for playoff spots in the conference tournament.
