No. 25 Women's Lacrosse Breezes Past Ursinus on Senior Day, 19-3

HAVERFORD, Pa. - On Senior Day at Swan Field, the 25th-ranked Haverford College women's lacrosse team (10-4, 4-3 CC) cruised to victory over visiting Ursinus (3-10, 1-6 CC) by a final tally of 19-3. The Fords scored the first 10 goals of the contest to pull away from the Bears, taking an 11-1 lead into the intermission break. Molly Lausten finished with five goals to pace the attack offensively for the Fords. Rachel Romens saved four of the five shots she faced to pick up the win.

The Fords came out charging out the gates as Lausten opened up the scoring and Allie Gibbons tallied less than a minute later to make it 2-0 Fords. Haverford quickly grew its advantage to 7-0 with the senior Lausten tallying again at the 19:13 mark. Lausten added another goal with 13 minutes left to play in the first half and the Fords triggered the running clock with a goal at 10:18 to go.

Olivia DiRienz opened the second half with a natural hat-trick, scoring the first three goals of the stanza as the Fords pulled to a 14-1 lead with 22:28 to play. Sollee found her third goal of the afternoon with 5:40 to play, taking an assist from Courtney Cubbin for the final Haverford goal of the contest. Rina Rosnow finished the day with three goals while Julia Manetta had an all-around effort with three ground balls and three assists on the afternoon.

Sarah Svetec controlled five draws to pace Haverford in the midfield. Senior Madison Jones had three caused turnovers, a game-high, while fellow senior Noelle Smith caused two turnovers and grabbed two ground balls to help anchor the defense. 

Haverford has now reached the 10-win plateau for the third time in four seasons. Women's Lacrosse returns to action with the home regular season finale on Wednesday, April 25 against Bryn Mawr. Opening draw is slated for 7 p.m.
