Alyssa Sherman Selected for IWLCA Senior All-Star Game

HAVERFORD, Pa. - Alyssa Sherman '18 of the Haverford College women's lacrosse team has been selected to play in the 2018 North-South Division Senior All-Star Game, the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Association (IWLCA) has announced. Sherman will play for the north team, whcih is coached by Celine Cunningham of Stevens. 

The annual collegiate All-Star Game will take place on Tierney Field at the US Lacrosse Headquarters in Sparks. Md. on Saturday, June 2. The Division III game is slated for a 2:30 p.m. start and will be live streamed via IWLCA-TV.com. 

Sherman follows in the foosteps of Sarina Manetta '17, who participated in the game last season following a standout senior campaign. Sherman is Haverford's 12th participant in the North-South All-Star contest. 

Sherman took home All-Centennial Conference recognition for the first time in her senior campaign. The co-captain anchored one of the top defenses in the Centennial Conference as Haverford caused a conference-best 205 turnovers, 24 more than second place Washington College. Individually, Sherman was third in the conference with 25 caused turnovers and 14th with 29 ground balls. The Belmont, Calif. product matched a career-best with four caused turnovers on three occasions.

In total, 132 student-athletes were selected to participate in the annual contest including 44 players from Division III.
