Signature Wins: A wild back-and-forth contest against Cabrini (Mar. 10) set the tone for the season to come, as the Fords weathered a 9-0 run from the Cavaliers for a key road win. Rina Rosnow tallied five goals in the victory. On the spring break trip to Virginia, the Fords bested host Christopher Newport (Mar. 15), with Rosnow again tallying five goals, including the overtime winner. In conference play, consecutive victories at Muhlenberg (Apr. 4) and home against Dickinson (Apr. 7) helped the Fords to a 9-2 overall start heading into a showdown at No. 1 and eventual national champion Gettysburg. A victory against rival Swarthmore (Apr. 28) served as a prelude to the postseason with Allie Gibbons registering a hat trick in addition to a four goal performance. Rachel Romens matched a career-best with 11 saves as the Fords took down their Hood Trophy rivals in the regular season finale.
Season Notes: The Fords capped the season with 12 wins, the most since a 13-5 record during the 2013 campaign … In Head Coach Katie Zichelli's first year at the helm, the Fords spent time in the national spotlight, with consecutive rankings in the national coaches' poll and four straight weeks receiving votes … Gibbons ranked within the top 15 in the Centennial in points, goals and assists while also pacing the conference's attackers with 21 caused turnovers this season.... At the end of her third year on campus, Gibbons ranks 15th in Haverford history in goals with 109 and 18th in points with 143 … Haverford beat Hood Trophy rival Swarthmore for the sixth consecutive season … Molly Lausten had 17 free-position goals to set a program single-season record … Julia Manetta twice tied the single game program record for assists, with six against Eastern on March 28 and Bryn Mawr on April 25 … The team single game assists record was set on April 25 against Bryn Mawr as the Fords tallied 17 helpers in the victory.

Looking ahead: Although the Fords lose senior leadership from Lausten, Romens, Sherman, Smith and Sollee, the future is bright for the squad with key contributors returning from nearly every class year in each phase of the game. Leading goal scorers Rosnow (47) and Gibbons (38) both return while Manetta will continue to be a vital part of the offense. Belle McMahon, Hailey Morris and Julia Pascarella return with a vital first year of collegiate playing experience behind them. Svetec, Eliza Brosgol, Olivia DiRienz, Maeve Gaffney and Courtney Cubbin will be anchors in the midfield while the defense turns to Anna Meyers, Kirsten Mullin and Emily Krupnick to lead a young group. Tatiana Lathion, Amelia Slade and Paige Walton all saw meaningful minutes in goal spelling Romens in 2018 and will be poised and prepared to take over the duties between the pipes in 2019.
