#21 Women's Lacrosse Triumphs over Arcadia

HAVERFORD, Pa. – The No. 21 Haverford College women's lacrosse team (3-1) defeated visiting Arcadia (0-5) by a final of 20-2 on Tuesday afternoon at Swan Field. Junior Julia Manetta picked up four assists in the outing, eclipsing the Haverford career record for the category in the process. Manetta took the lead from Alexa Pesce '12 to gain sole possession of the record. Manetta now has 86 career assists, including 15 on the young season.

12 different Fords scored a goal in the victory.  Allie Gibbons and Rina Rosnow each had three goals, while Maeve Gaffney, Hailey Morris, Belle McMahon, and Courtney Cubbin each added a pair of scores. First years Abby Wolfenden, Hannah Lopez, Roma Hladky, Kate Severtson, and Callie Crawford also each tallied a goal. Julia Pascarella added three assists while Morris and Severtson each had two helpers. 

McMahon had a game-best three caused turnovers and collected three ground balls. Sarah Svetec also set a new career best with a pair of caused turnovers. Amelia Slade picked up the win in goal with 30 minutes of action while Tatiana Lathion and Sarah Cahn each saw time between the pipes in the second half. Cahn made two saves in her second collegiate appearance.

Julia Imbert and Hannah McAllister each tallied for the Knights. Veandra Selby made 12 saves and collected four ground balls. Emily Covert and Michaela Ferlow each caused a pair of turnovers.

The Fords improve to 2-0 in the all-time series with Arcadia. Haverford now returns to action on Saturday when the Fords host Cabrini for a noon opening draw on Swan Field. Haverford is 7-1 in the all-time series with the Cavaliers, but the last three matchups have been decided by four or fewer goals.

The contest will be the last for Haverford before the squad heads to Florida for a pair of matchups in the Sunshine State. Haverford takes on RIT (March 12) and Skidmore (March 14) at Ann Dever Park in Englewood, Fla.
