HAVERFORD,Pa. - Haverford College senior women's lacrosse attacker Allie Gibbons has been named a 2019 first-team Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) All-Metro region selection, while junior attacker Julia Manetta and junior defender Anna Meyers were each named to the region's second team, the coaches' organization organization announced in its annual all-region release on Monday afternoon. Haverford placed three student-athletes on the IWLCA All-Region squads for the first time since the 2011 campaign. The program had two selections in each of the previous two seasons.

Gibbons, a second-team selection in 2017, rose to the first team after a standout senior season for the Fords in 2019. The Baltimore, Md. native was named first-team All-Centennial as she paced the team on the attack while serving as a captain. She started all 18 games for the Fords, logging 81 points and 69 goals, the second-most in program single-season history. Gibbons added multiple goals in each contest this season. Gibbons also tallied 21 caused turnovers, including 11 against conference competition. Against Christopher Newport in the season opener, Gibbons set a new program record with an 11-point outing in Haverford's 21-14 win.

Gibbons also matched the program's single-game goals record in that late February triumph over the Captains. She leaves the program fourth in career history in points (224) and goals (178) as she joined rarefied error as one of just seven players in Haverford history to rack up 200 points. Her goals per game tally (2.62) and points per game mark (3.29) are also in the top 10 in program career history. Gibbons was named a CoSIDA Academic All-District At-Large selection last week, and was named an Ambler Scholar Athlete as one of the top 16 senior student-athletes in her class at Haverford.

Manetta, of Commack, N.Y.,  proved to be one of the most prolific assisters in the nation as she tallied 64 assists, a mark that is currently fourth in Division III. Manetta will enter her senior season as Haverford's all-time leader in assists (135) and assists per game (2.70), and she also recorded the program single-season record this year. Manetta's seven assists in the season opener against Christopher Newport are the most in program single-game history.

Meyers was named a second-team All-Metro selection for the second straight season after a first-team All-Centennial campaign. The Hopewell Junction, N.Y. product was a vital member of a fortified back line for the Fords again in 2019. Meyers recorded 30 caused turnovers, scooped 36 ground balls, and added 20 draw controls in another well-rounded season. She recorded multiple caused turnovers in seven games, including a career-best five in a win over McDaniel on March 23.

Haverford finished the year with at least 10 wins for the fourth time in the last five seasons and joined the 2013 and 2015 squads as Centennial Conference semifinalists. Haverford also posted ranked wins against No. 3 TCNJ and No. 22 Dickinson, achieving a national ranking in the IWLCA poll for the second straight year under head coach Katie Zichelli.

In total, the IWLCA has honored 256 student-athletes in Division III with a selection to one of the All-Region teams for 2019. These student-athletes are now eligible to be named to a national IWLCA All-American team. The IWLCA will celebrate the 2019 All-Americans during Divisional All-American Specials, which will be aired on Lax Sports Network in mid-June.
