Women's Lacrosse Welcomes Alumnae Back to Campus

HAVERFORD, Pa. – The Haverford College women's lacrosse team hosted its annual alumnae contest Saturday, September 14 on Swan Field. The friendly contest was followed by a postgame tailgate that allowed the current team to network with former members of the team as well as returning former teammates. A group of 16 alumnae returned for the Saturday matinee, a robust grouping that made for an entertaining game that saw the current team take victory. 

Returning alumnae included Shannon Horn '14, Courntey Carter '17, Hannah Morgan '15, Shannon Rafsol '17, Allie Gibbons '19, Noelle Smith '18, Perrin Downing '13, Grace Stockbower '13, Sarina Manetta '17, Christina Gould '16, Rina Rosnow '19, Alyssa Sherman '18, Molly Lausten '18, Kate Sollee '18, Lucy Koch '17, and Sarah Svetec '19.

Haverford won 10 games during the 2019 season and was ranked as high as No. 21 in the IWLCA Polls throughout the season. The Fords advanced to the semifinals of the Centennial Conference Tournament for the first time since 2015 and defeated a pair of nationally-ranked opponents.The Fords posted their highest-ranked victory in program history with a 12-10 win on Swan Field against then-No. 3 TCNJ early in the year before defeating then-No. 22 Dickinson during the first round of the conference tournament. Haverford has made the postseason in seven of the past 10 seasons, including each of head coach Katie Zichelli's first two years leading the program.

The Fords will open the 2020 schedule February 22 at home against Moravian ( 12 p.m.).
