Allison Burns (McWilliams) returns to the women’s lacrosse staff as an assistant coach for the 2018 season.

She is currently a high school English teacher at Sun Valley High School in Aston, Pa. where she also served as varsity girls’ lacrosse coach. Burns began her coaching career as a head coach for the Brandywine Majors Lacrosse Club in 2010.

A three-year starter on defense for the Temple University Owls, Burns served as captain of the squad her senior season. While at Temple, Burns also distinguished herself in the classroom as she attained Atlantic 10 Presidents’ Honor Roll recognition every year of her career and was honored as one of Temple’s top ten student-athletes, the Trustee Ten, in 2012.

Additionally, Burns, who worked as a peer instructor in Temple’s freshman seminar for three years, earned inclusion to the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Academic Honor Roll in 2011. Having previously earned an English degree from Temple, Burns completed the required student teaching experience for an additional degree in secondary education in the fall of 2012.
