ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. – Phoebe Miller's first goal of the year lifted Haverford College to a 1-0 overtime victory over host Elizabethtown College on Saturday afternoon in non-conference women's soccer action.

Haverford (1-2-3) picks up its first win of the season with Saturday's thriller while E'town evens its record at 4-4 with the loss.

Miller was a threat throughout the game against the Blue Jays, generating a team-high four shots including three of the Fords' final four shots in the contest.

Ninety minutes of action left the teams scoreless but not without excitement nearing the end of regulation.

Elizabethtown pushed its attack as the clock ticked under 10 minutes to play, getting off a shot that sailed right of the goal at the 81:35 mark followed by another at 82:57 which was saved by Haverford goalie Robin Chernow, and then one more eight seconds later which Chernow also corralled.

The Fords countered with their own push to end the game in regulation as Miller forced a save from Blue Jay goalie Dana Robidoux at 83:21. Jo Haller was able to get off a shot, saved by Robidoux, a little more than a minute later and Miller generated the final scoring chance on a shot with 29 seconds remaining which Robidoux also stopped.

The home team gained a corner kick opportunity 99 seconds into the overtime period but sailed a shot over the crossbar off the chance.

Haverford took possession after the E'town opportunity and moved down field where Miller eventually found the ball at her feet, dribbled into the box high on the left and launched a shot across to the right to beat Robidoux and end the contest at the 94:06 mark.

Chernow earned the win for Haverford coming up with three saves while Robidoux was saddled with the loss despite stopping six shots on goal.

The Fords head to Lebanon Valley College on Wednesday for another non-conference match-up before jumping back into Centennial Conference action with a Saturday game at Gettysburg College.
