Season Recap: Women's Soccer Lays Foundation for Future

Signature wins: The Fords posted six shutout victories on the season behind an experienced defense that was anchored by second-team All-Centennial Conference goalkeeper Robin Chernow. Haverford started the season with back-to-back shutouts to capture its sixth Haverford College Kickoff Classic title in program history with the championship victory coming via a 2-0 win against Scranton. The Fords started the year with four straight shutouts in total. Haverford also had shutout victories against Bryn Mawr and Washington College during Centennial Conference play.

Senior Connie Friedman, also a second-team All-Centennial Conference selection during her final season with the Fords, led the team with three game-winning goals on the season. She got the season started on a positive note with a goal in the 81st minute against Arcadia to open the Haverford College Kickoff Classic. Friedman was also the first player to crack the scoreboard in the Fords' shutout wins against DeSales and at Moravian.

Looking forward: The Fords will have to deal with the graduation of eight seniors who are a part of the Haverford College Class of 2015. Of the 17 non-seniors on this year's team, 12 of them played in at least 10 games during the 2014 season. Offensively, Haverford returns eight of its 12 players that scored a goal during this past season. On the defensive end, starters Tori D'Acunto and Abby Letts will look to anchor a back line that will have to replace key pieces of the Fords' recent postseason success.
