Women's Soccer Denied in Home Opener vs. Arcadia, 1-0

HAVERFORD, Pa. – An early second half goal was the difference as the Haverford College women's soccer team dropped its season opener to Arcadia by a 1-0 score on Saturday afternoon. The Knights' lone goal came from Lennon Lennon Kramer on an assist from Jackie Glanfield in the 55th minute of play.

The Knights and Fords finished the game with 13 and 11 shots, respectively. Haverford did hold the edge with eight shots on goal, compared to just six from Arcadia. However, eight saves from the combined effort of Evelyn Feigeles and Taelor Rivera held the Fords off the scoreboard. Kathy Prescott got the start in goal for the Fords and made five saves.

Haverford applied the pressure early as the Fords took five shots on goal in the first 45 minutes. Safiyah Riddle and Hannah Krapes both led the Fords with two shots on goal for the afternoon as they were the only two players who recorded multiple shots in a balanced offensive effort.

Women's soccer will be back in action tomorrow against Elizabethtown in the Kick Off Classic consolation game which is scheduled for a 3:30 p.m. start. Elizabethtown fell to Washington & Lee by a 2-1 score in the second game on Saturday. Arcadia and Washington & Lee will play in the championship game at 1 p.m.
