HAVERFORD, Pa. – The Haverford College women's soccer team (5-1-1, 1-0 CC) continued to improve its position in the national rankings following an overtime victory and draw during this past week. The Fords are now receiving 43 votes in the D3Soccer.com Poll after earning 13 points last week. Haverford is now the second team listed as receiving votes in the fourth release of the regular season.

The Fords started last week with a 2-1 win against DeSales as Anna Dekle gave the Fords an early lead before Katie Safter headed home the game-winning tally just 4:21 into the first overtime session. Over the weekend, 13 saves from the Stevenson defense prevented a 2-0 week for the Fords as they settled for a scoreless draw. Kathy Prescott made five saves in net to hold up Haverford's end of the shutout.

Haverford has allowed just two goals on the season and ranks second in the Centennial Conference with a 0.28 goals against average. The team has five shutouts in its first seven games. Offensively, eight different players have scored a goal while 11 different players have a goal or an assist on the year.

Women's soccer will travel to Widener this Wednesday for a game under the lights at 7 p.m. The Fords, one of five teams that are currently unbeaten in conference play, will meet up with another unbeaten team this Saturday when Gettysburg comes to Walton Field for a 1 p.m. start.
