BRYN MAWR, Pa. – The Haverford College women's soccer team clinched a spot in the Centennial Conference Tournament with a 3-0 win against Bi-Co neighbor Bryn Mawr on Tuesday afternoon. The shutout was the Fords' ninth this season as the team has not conceded a goal during its last six wins.

Haverford (9-5-2, 6-2-1 CC) scored twice in the opening half and added another in the final minute of regulation to move into a tie for second place in the Centennial Conference standings. The Fords can clinch a first round bye in the conference tournament with a win against Swarthmore this Saturday during the regular season finale.

Katie Safter opened the scoring for Haverford as the host Owls were whistled for a foul just outside of the 18. Safter found open space in the bottom left hand side of the net to give the Fords a 1-0 lead just 13:19 into regulation. Safter's tally was her second this season and makes her the eighth different player with multiple goals for Haverford and gives the junior seven for her collegiate career. Four of those seven career goals have been game-winning efforts.

Just over 20 minutes later, midfielder Maryanna Solecki scored her second goal this season to become the ninth Ford to accomplish that feat in 2017. Her fourth career goal came off a corner kick attempt as classmate Skyler Ellenburg found the junior open in front of goal following a scramble inside the box. Ellenburg's assist was her third this season and gives her 12 during her Haverford career to tie for 12th in program history with Annie Turner '09 and current assistant coach Katie Van Aken '12.

First year Saede Eifrig capped the scoring for Haverford with just 1:04 remaining in the second half. Eifrig's goal moved her into the team lead with four tallies so far this season. Her goal came after fighting through a pair of defenders before a 1v1 finish around the goalie in the eventual 3-0 final.

Sixteen different players finished with a shot as the Fords were seemingly on the offensive all afternoon with a 29-0 advantage in shot attempts. Six different players tied for the team lead with three shots during the match. In goal, Julie Hanss did not face a shot all afternoon as she recorded her eighth solo shutout of the season.

Women's soccer will wrap up the regular season this Saturday with Senior Day against Swarthmore. Prior to the 1 p.m. start against the rival Garnet, the Fords will honor the program's nine seniors during a pregame ceremony. Saturday's action will also mark the first Hood Trophy point up for grabs in the annual friendly competition between Haverford and Swarthmore.
