ST. DAVIDS, Pa. – Following up what was a career-high four point outing against Lebanon Valley over the weekend, Leanne Ludwick topped that performance on Tuesday afternoon with a hat trick to lead the Haverford College women's soccer team to a 4-0 win at Eastern. All four of Haverford's goals came during the first 45 minutes of play as the Fords (3-1) won their second straight match by identical 4-0 finals.

Ludwick's newest career day marked the first multi-goal performance of her career. For good measure, she made it the first hat trick since Michele Buonora '11 scored three times against Washington College during the 2008 season. Celia Page scored Haverford's other goal on the afternoon as the Fords' first-year has now scored in the last two wins.

The Saede Eifrig to Ludwick connection was clicking early for the Fords as Ludwick finished the game's first goal just 1:53 into regulation time. Just barely into the eighth minute of play, Eifrig and Ludwick once again connected to make the score 2-0. With her back-to-back helpers, Eifrig now has six assists during her career and a total of 16 offensive points.

Haverford's rapid fire offense continued to fire on all cylinders as Page found the back of the net during the 14th minute of play. Her second career goal in as many matches was set up by Gabrielle Cipriano's second assist of her career. Haverford's first three goals came on just four shots as an attempt from Emily Thissen, which was knocked down by the Eastern defense, was the only time the Fords recorded a shot and did not find the back of the net during the first 15 minutes.

Ludwick capped her afternoon with an unassisted goal during the 31st minute of game action. Through just four matches this season, Ludwick has already posted new career highs in both goals (5) and points (12) for a single season. The senior co-captain now has 14 career goals to tie for 15th in program history. The last Ford to reach that mark was Connie Friedman '15 who finished her career with exactly 14 goals. Fittingly enough, Ludwick's 36 career points are also tied with Friedman's career mark and rank those two players in a tie for 19th in program history.

The Fords finished the opening half with an 11-2 advantage in shots and put all but one of those attempts on target. Haverford held a 19-6 advantage in shots after the full 90 minutes. Kendra Griesman, Ludwick, and Eifrig each took four shots during the victory. Reigning Centennial Conference Defensive Player of the Week Hannah Friedrich started the game and made one save in goal during the first half before Claire Cywes came on for the second half and stopped two more shots in the combined shutout effort.

After back-to-back road games, the Fords will play at home during each of their next four contests. Up next will be this Saturday's matchup with Widener that is scheduled for 12 p.m. noon on Walton Field. That match will be part of a doubleheader with the men's team. Haverford's men will follow that contest with a 2:30 p.m. start against Wilkes.
