HAVERFORD, Pa. – The Haverford College women's soccer team will head into Centennial Conference play with momentum on its side after the Fords (6-1) recorded their fifth straight shutout and sixth consecutive victory with a 3-0 win against Alvernia on Saturday afternoon. Haverford's winning streak marks the first time since 2009 that the Fords have won six straight contests.

That streak is just one shy of the school record which has been accomplished on four other occasions. This latest shutout also marks the first time in program history the Fords have shut out five straight opponents. The Fords have gone 453:59 since conceding their last goal against Scranton to begin the winning streak. Perhaps even more remarkable is that just eight shots have needed to be saved during this defensive lockdown period after Hannah Friedrich was called on to make one save this afternoon.

Leanne Ludwick continues to rack up goals at an impressive pace as the Fords' senior has now scored in each of Haverford's six matches during this winning streak. She tallied the game-winner this afternoon during the 11th minute of play as Kendall Ozorowski split the defense with a nice pass before Ludwick finished her Centennial Conference-leading eighth goal of the season. Ludwick has scored three of Haverford's six game-winning goals during this stretch and is now tied with MeeJean Kim '06 for 12th in school history with 42 career points. Today's goal was the 17th of her career. Ozorowski's assist was the first point of her collegiate career.

Haverford continued the early pressure as each of the team's goals came during the first half of play. Saede Eifrig found the back of the net for the second straight match on a nice give-and-go play from Ludwick. Eifrig's goal was the seventh of her career. With her latest helper, Ludwick is also leading the conference in assists (5) and points (21) to go along with her lead in goals.

Jaclyn Corbin continued to impress with her third goal of the season during the 36th minute of play. Corbin's tally was set up by first-year Alyssa Saito's first career assist and point. Haverford finished its final non-conference match of the season with a 26-2 advantage in shots and 9-0 edge in corner kicks. Alvernia's goalkeepers made 11 saves in total on the afternoon to help prevent any further damage on the scoreboard.

Women's soccer will now turn its attention to Centennial Conference play as the Fords welcome Muhlenberg to Walton Field next Wednesday for a 4 p.m. match. Haverford will then travel to Franklin & Marshall next Saturday for a 1 p.m. match during its first week of conference action.
