HAVERFORD, Pa. – The Haverford College women's soccer team got a goal from Celia Page during the 12th minute of play against No. 5 Johns Hopkins on Saturday afternoon. That lone tally stood up for nearly the entire afternoon before the nationally-ranked Blue Jays scored with just over 22 minutes remaining in regulation as the two teams settled for a 1-1 draw.

The Fords (8-1-1, 2-0-1 CC) carried an eight-match winning streak into today's contest and looked to be continuing their winning ways as Page scored her seventh goal of the season off a cross from Leanne Ludwick into the box early in the first half. Page now has seven goals during her rookie campaign and has recorded 17 points over the last seven contests to tie for third overall in the Centennial Conference.

Ludwick's assist was her conference-leading seventh helper of the season to go along with the league lead in both goals (10) and points (27). Ludwick has recorded at least one point in all but one of Haverford's matches during the team's current nine-match unbeaten streak. The Fords' senior captain now has 51 career points which ties current Director of Athletics Wendy Smith '87 for 11th in school history. Ludwick's 13 career assists are tied with Caryn Dolich '06 for 11th all-time in that category.

Facing a tough challenge on the defensive end, Johns Hopkins recorded 19 shots on the afternoon but the Haverford defense allowed just five of those attempts to reach the goal as both goalies recorded four saves on the afternoon. Hannah Friedrich made two saves during both the first and second half. Nevertheless, the Blue Jays were finally able to break through during the 68th minute as Rachel Jackson had a shot that originally hit off of the post. In an unfortunate bounce for the Fords, that rebound came right back to Jackson who finished her fifth goal of the season. The equalizer marked the first goal that the Fords had conceded in 700:56 of playing time, a streak that dated back to the first weekend of the regular season.

The Fords had the only two shots on goal of the overtime sessions despite JHU holding a 5-3 edge in shot attempts during the extra 20 minutes. Haverford also had the only three corner kicks of the overtimes and nearly found the game-winner on those attempts as Kendra Griesman's header off of the insert was saved during the 98th minute of play. Karlie Pollock also had a shot saved off of a corner during the second overtime session.

Women's soccer will now head out on the road for a pair of Centennial Conference matchups this week. The Fords first travel to Ursinus this Tuesday, October 8 for a 7 p.m. start under the lights. Haverford makes the trip to Gettysburg next Saturday for a 1 p.m. match against the Bullets.
