Women's Soccer Headed to NCAA Tournament

NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Bracket

Rewatch the NCAA Selection Show

HAVERFORD, Pa. – After an anxious weekend of waiting until 1 p.m. on Monday afternoon, it did not take the Haverford College women's soccer team long to hear its name called as an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament. The Fords (12-4-2) ended up being one of a record five Centennial Conference teams headed to the NCAA Tournament.

Haverford will play Randolph-Macon in the first round game this coming Saturday, November 16 at 1:30 p.m. Messiah College will be the host for the Fords' NCAA regional round while Lesley also joins the four team pod.

The Fords will be making their fourth appearance all-time in the NCAA Tournament as Haverford won Centennial Conference Championships and corresponding automatic bids during the 2005 and 2012 seasons while also earning an at-large spot to the NCAA Tournament during its most recent trip in 2013. Messiah was also the site of the Fords' second round game during the 2005 season when the team advanced to the second round in that inaugural campaign.

Randolph-Macon (20-0-1) won the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Championship in penalty kicks against Virginia Wesleyan to solidify its spot in the field. The Yellow Jackets are also making their fourth NCAA Tournament appearance all-time, but their first since 1996.

Messiah (18-1-1) won the MAC Commonwealth Championship and will be making its 20th straight appearance on the national stage. The Falcons will take on Lesley (14-3-2), which won the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC), advancing to the NCAA Tournament on penalty kicks. Lesley is making its third straight trip to the NCAA Tournament. The Lynx have made it to the NCAA Tournament seven times, with each of those occurrences coming over the past eight seasons.

A full preview of this weekend's action will be available later this week.
