HAVERFORD, Pa. – Kendra Griesman added another accolade to her lengthy resume as the Fords' senior midfielder was named to the United Soccer Coaches All-Mid-Atlantic Region team on Monday. Griesman was a third-team selection to the squad and marked Haverford's first all-region player since Jo Haller '16 was also a third-team selection during her senior campaign.
A three-time All-Centennial Conference selection throughout her career, Griesman earned first-team All-CC accolades during her senior campaign. One of six all-conference picks for the Fords this fall, Griesman started all 18 matches for the team, scoring five goals and assisting on another during Centennial Conference play. Griesman tallied the game-winning goal to go along with an assist against Franklin & Marshall for her first career three-point match. She also scored the game-winning goal against McDaniel while finding the back of the net during wins against Muhlenberg, Ursinus, and Bryn Mawr.
Despite missing her sophomore season, Griesman capped her career as one of just 10 three-time All-Centennial Conference performers in program history. Griesman started 52 of her 53 career appearances with the Fords and rarely left the pitch as she ranks among the top 20 players in school history for minutes played despite missing an entire season. Over her career, Griesman totaled nine goals and five assists. Her most recent accolade marks the 11th different occasion in which a Haverford player has garnered all-region recognition since 2009.
This individual accolade follows a strong overall showing for the Fords as they advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2013 via an at-large bid. Haverford finished its season with a 12-5-2 record, including a 6-2-2 mark in Centennial Conference matches. The Fords scored 2.32 goals per match for their highest average since the 2004 campaign while conceding just 0.72 per 90 minutes which ranked as the third-best mark in school history.
