Page, Anderson Represent Women's Soccer on All-Centennial Squads

Full Centennial Conference Release

HAVERFORD, Pa. - The Haverford College women's soccer team was represented on the Centennial Conference second team by senior forward Celia Page (Wynnewood, Pa.) and first-year midfielder Lauren Anderson (Bala Cynwyd, Pa.), the conference office announced in the annual postseason awards release on Thursday morning. Senior Meg Bowen (Charlottesville, Va.) was named Haverford's representative on the All-Sportsmanship team.

Page, a native of nearby Wynnewood, Pa. was a standout offensively all season long for the Fords for the second consecutive season, earning a second-team nod after a second consecutive five-goal season.  Page struck for five goals and three assists in 16 games played, firing 41 shots, including 22 on target during the campaign. Three of her goals were game-winners, as she notched the go-ahead tallies against Immaculata (Sep. 27), Muhlenberg (Oct. 1) and McDaniel (Oct. 15).

Page was named CC Offensive Player of the Week on October 4 after the senior tallied both game-winning goals as Haverford blanked Immaculata and Muhlenberg. In the non-conference contest with the Mighty Macs at home, she scored to open the floodgates in a 5-0 rout and added a helper on a goal from Liv McMillan. In the conference matchup in Allentown, Page fired in from way outside the box for a highlight-reel strike to open the scoring as Haverford picked up a crucial three points on the road.

She is now a three-time member of the All-Centennial Conference teams, earning honorable mention in both 2019 and 2021. Page joins Dickinson's Meg Tate, Sarah Hughes, and Charlotte Glancey, along with Rachel Jackson of Johns Hopkins, Molly O'Shea of Gettysburg and Rachel Chatfield of Washington College as players honored for the third time in their careers in 2022.

Anderson, also from close to campus in Bala Cynwyd, Pa. burst onto the scene with a standout rookie campaign. She was a stalwart in the midfield for the Fords, playing nearly every minute of the season. She logged 16 starts, posting an assist in the Kickoff Classic against Stevens. Anderson, also a member of the Haverford women's lacrosse team, is the first Haverford rookie to earn inclusion on the second team or higher since Kendra Griesman took home a second-team nod in 2016.

The Fords finished the 2022-23 campaign with a 7-4-5  record including a 3-3-4 mark in CC play. All-Region honors from the United Soccer Coaches are now expected to be announced later this month.
