Gotuaco Scores Victory at CSA Individual Championships

PRINCETON, N.J. – The Haverford College squash teams had four players take part in the opening rounds of the College Squash Association's (CSA) Individual Championships today at Princeton University.

Placed at No. 79 in the Dunlop College Women's Squash Individual Rankings, freshman Isabelle Gotuaco scored a victory over the No. 69 ranked Allison Shilling of Mount Holyoke College in three games (11-5, 11-9, 11-6). Earlier in the day, Gotuaco lost in three games (11-3, 11-2, 11-1) to Princeton's Gabriella Garr.

Haverford had one player advanced to the round of 32 in junior Brittany Simmonds, who had a default victory. In her second round contest, the junior fell in three games to Trinity College's Natalie Babjukova.

Senior Alex Love battled in her first match against St. Lawrence's Emily Terry before losing in three (11-6, 11-7, 11-9). Love also suffered a defeat in her consolation match to Brandy Williamson of Mount Holyoke College (11-2, 11-8, 11-4).

Junior Nathan Vestrich-Shade lost a close battle in his second match to Wesleyan's Raheem Logan in three games. The junior lost games one and three by a combined four points. He was defeated in three games (11-4, 11-3, 11-2) to Noah Browne of Amherst in the first round of the Molloy Cup.
