HAVERFORD, Pa. – The No. 32 ranked Haverford women's squash team split a pair of matches on Saturday at the GIAC Squash courts, getting past Boston College, 5-4, before falling to Bucknell 6-3. The Fords sit at 4-10 after the split on Senior Day.

Against the Eagles, the Fords started the match with a win at the number nine spot on the ladder from Stephanie Lukez, who defeated Laura Krivicich (11-3, 11-8, 11-7). The next match to finish was at the second spot on the Ladder as Kaitlin Reese defeated Carlie Ladda in a 11-3, 11-6, 11-4 sweep.  Emilia Cobbs was defeated by Qi Ying Lim at the fourth spot, but Sophia Jackson took down Claire Wortsman (11-4, 11-4, 11-6) at the eighth spot to give Haverford an early 3-1 advantage.

Boston College got two back as Grace Lavoie beat Olivia Franco at the number four position and Anna Kullnigg fell to Carol Dickinson at number seven, but senior co-captain Isabel Agnew took a win over Sabrina Didizian in a back-and-forth, five-game thriller for a 4-3 lead at the third spot, helping secure momentum for the Fords in her final day of matches at the GIAC Squash Courts. Co-captain Isabelle Gotuaco fell to Christina McLaughlin at the first spot on the ladder ahead of Mason McNulty, who clinched the match for Haverford with an exciting 11-4, 7-11, 11-6, 11-3 win at the sixth spot on the ladder.

Against Bucknell, Cobbs was defeated by Liesel Ferguson at number five to begin the action. Cobbs closed out her home career hitting the ball well and playing smart, moving the ball around the court against Ferguson.

Lukez and Olivia Franco also fell into trouble early, as the Fords were faced with a 3-0 deficit. Reese posted another win, taking a four-game win over Kelly Clark at the second spot on the ladder to cut into the lead at 3-1. Reese improves to 9-5 individually this season.

Jackson was defeated at number eight, in a battle with Homa Gharagozlou. Jackson took the second and fourth games before falling in the fifth 11-6.

Agnew finished her home career with another thrilling five-game win, this time taking down Anna Hart at the number three position. The final two games required extra points as Agnew turned a 12-14 loss in game four into the inverse, with a 14-12 win in the fifth and deciding game. Agnew placed a smart and focused match, with a consistent and tough approach in a pair of pivotal matchups.

With the Fords trailing 4-2, Kullnigg was faced with a tough opponent in Cleo Greenwood, who clinched the match for the visiting Bison. Molly Horning defeated McNulty at the number six position, but Haverford made it 6-3 with a win at number one singles, as Gotuaco defeated Sophia Hartman.

Prio to the Bucknell match, Cobbs and Agnew were recognized for their contributions to the Haverford Squash program over their four seasons on campus.

Women's squash will now await the final team rankings and the official release of the CSA Team Championship brackets.  Action gets underway on Friday, February 24 and will continue through Sunday, February 26. The Fords are scheduled to play three matches in three days, making the short jaunt to Princeton.
