2017-18 Haverford Women's Squash Schedule

HAVERFORD, Pa. - The Haverford College women's squash team has announced in 2017-18 schedule.  The slate includes 15 regular season matches and six home matches on the GIAC Squash Courts.

After hosting the alumnae match on Saturday, November 4, the regular season begins on November 11 with a trip to the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md. The Fords will face off with Boston University and Johns Hopkins at Navy. The trip will be Haverford's first ever matchup with the Terriers of Boston University. Last season, the Fords dispatched Johns Hopkins, 9-0, to open the season.

On December 2, the Fords head to Poughkeepsie, N.Y. to face off with the host Vassar and Bates. Haverford faced Vassar twice last year, falling 8-1 in both meetings. The Fords will be doing battle with Bates for the first time since 1997.

After a break for Haverford's winter recess, the Fords will open the 2018 portion of the schedule with two home contests against Tufts and Connecticut College (Jan. 17).

The Fords then head to Massachusetts for five matches in three days against Wesleyan, Colby, Hamilton, Smith and Connecticut College (Jan 19-21). Colby and Hamilton are unfamiliar foes for Haverford as the Fords last met up with Colby in 1998 and last faced Hamilton in 2006.

February includes a four-match homestand against Dickinson and Georgetown (Feb. 3) before Haverford welcomes in Boston College and Bucknell (Feb. 10). Last season the Fords fell to Dickinson and Bucknell but took down Georgetown and Boston College in regular season action. Haverford was defeated by Georgetown in the final of the E Division at the College Squash Association (CSA) Team championships in Princeton, N.J.

The 2018 CSA Team Championships are slated for Friday, February 16 through Sunday, February 18 in Cambridge, Mass. and will be hosted by Harvard.

Haverford matched its 2015-16 win total with six wins in 2016-17 en route to a No. 34 national ranking. Isabel Agnew and Emilia Cobbs are lost to graduation, but the Fords return the rest of the ladder including senior co-captain Isabelle Gotuaco and sophomore Kaitlin Reese, who took home 12 individual wins in her debut last season, the most for a Haverford player since 2014-15.
