ITA Release

HAVERFORD, Pa. - The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) has announced that the Haverford College women's tennis team received the All-Academic Team award and had six players achieve scholar-athlete status.

This marks the 13th consecutive year that the women's tennis team was honored with an ITA All-Academic Team award. To receive an All-Academic award, a team must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 or above.

The Haverford scholar-athletes were Courtney Ahmed, Renata DiDonato, Robyn Himelstein, Jessica Liu, Abby Payson, and Caroline Steliotes. For student-athletes to earn an ITA Scholar-Athlete status they must be a varsity letter winner and have a grade point average of at least 3.50.

Haverford won seven matches in 2016 and was ranked as high as No. 12 in the ITA Atlantic South Region after the fall tournaments. Eight different players won at least four matches during the 2015-16 season, including a team-best 13 wins from Himelstein who went on to receive first-team All-Centennial Conference honors in singles.
