FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – The Haverford College women's tennis team wrapped up its weekend of competition at the ITA Southeast Regional with a pair of runner-up finishes in the Blue draws. Ali Morrow took second in the Blue 6 singles draw, while Izzy Angstman and Clara Farrehi also advanced to the finals of the Blue 3 doubles.

After not dropping a game on Saturday, Morrow nearly replicated that feat in the semifinals on Sunday before advancing by a 6-1, 6-1 score over Grove City's Jennifer Elder. Morrow played her closest match of the tournament but fell to Franklin & Marshall's Alexandra Collins by a hard-fought 6-3, 6-4 score in the final.

Angstman and Farrehi cruised into the finals of their draw with an 8-2 win over Grove City's Elder and Melissa Karidis. However, that duo came up just shy of the tournament title with an 8-1 victory after falling in favor of Baldwin-Wallace.

Jessica Liu was the third Haverford player in the semifinals after Saturday's results. The co-captain fell to eventual draw champion Morgan Fuqua of Shenandoah in her semifinal on Sunday. In the consolation round of the championship draw, fellow co-captain Abby Payson defeated Ursinus' Aileen BeVard by an 8-5 score before dropping a match to Dickinson's Madison Parks. Julia Gan fell in her first consolation match to the No. 4 seed who was upset in the first round yesterday.

Gan did pick up a win in championship doubles consolation along with Emily Shutman on Sunday morning. The pair edged out the opposition from Swarthmore by an 8-6 margin. However, an injury sustained on the day would prevent them from competing in the second consolation.

With Sunday's matches, women's tennis has completed its competition schedule for the fall. The Fords will next host their annual Alumnae Day this coming Saturday, October 1 at 11 a.m. Be sure to check back prior to the spring season for a complete release of the Fords' 2017 dual match schedule.
