Women's Tennis Receives ITA Academic Awards

HAVERFORD, Pa. - The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) has announced that the Haverford College women's tennis team received the All-Academic Team award and had 11 players achieve scholar-athlete status.

This marks the 14th consecutive year that the women's tennis team was honored with an ITA All-Academic Team award. To receive an All-Academic award, a team must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 or above.

The Haverford scholar-athletes were Maya Ahmed, Izzy Angstman, Jane Bary, Renata DiDonato, Clara Farrehi, Rory Lewis, Jessica Liu, Ali Morrow, Abby Payson, Jia-Ling Tuan, and Annika Ulrich. For student-athletes to earn an ITA Scholar-Athlete status they must be a varsity letter winner and have a grade point average of at least 3.50.

Women's tennis finished a successful 2016-17 season as the No. 13 team in the Atlantic South Region rankings as announced by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association. Haverford finished its spring season with a 10-8 overall record, including a 7-3 mark against Centennial Conference competition. Both win totals marked a three match improvement from the previous season as the Fords advanced to the Centennial Conference semifinals.
