Women's Tennis Wraps up Weekend at ITA Southeast Championships

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – The Haverford College women's tennis team wrapped up play at the ITA Southeast Regional Championship on Sunday evening. Sunday's results brought a close to the fall competition season for the Fords.

Finishing the fall season with victories, Anne Tobin and Sarah Evenson both picked up default wins on Sunday. Tobin was in the championship singles draw, while Evenson participated in the Flight C draw. Natalie Williams found herself in the Flight D quarterfinals on Sunday, but saw an 8-5 score go against her on Sunday versus Virginia Wesleyan's Audrey Bally. Claire Johnson also competed in the consolation draw of championship singles, falling to Salisbury's Taylor Cooper.

With only one doubles team in the consolation draw following Saturday's results, the pairing of Johnson and Williams was topped by Carnegie Mellon's duo of Jamie Vizelman and Victoria Chang.

Women's tennis will officially bring its fall season to a close in two weeks as the Fords host their Alumnae Day on Saturday, October 6. The friendly day of tennis is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
