HAVERFORD, Pa. – The Haverford College women's tennis team checked in at No. 13 in the third release of the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's (ITA) Atlantic South Region team rankings. The Fords have won five straight Centennial Conference matches and are currently tied with Johns Hopkins for first place in the conference standings with just three weekends left in the regular season.

Haverford has now won eight straight Centennial Conference regular season matches dating back to last year, making this the third-longest conference winning streak in program history. The only longer streaks came when the Fords won nine straight Centennial matches during the 1994 and 1999 seasons. In both of those years, the Fords ended up finishing second in the conference's regular season standings for their highest placement to date.

Joining the Fords in the Atlantic South regional rankings from the Centennial Conference are Johns Hopkins and Swarthmore as those schools are ranked fifth and seventh, respectively. Those two teams also hold the Nos. 23 and 25 ranks in the national poll.

Since turning their attention to Centennial Conference play, Haverford has posted a 23-7 record (76.7%) in singles and 12-3 mark (80%) in doubles. Clara Farrehi is currently a perfect 5-0 in conference singles matches while all six players in the regular lineup have at least .500 records. That includes five with winning records.

In doubles, Sarah Evenson and Claire Johnson are a perfect 4-0 in conference singles matches as all three of Haverford's regular doubles pairings have winning records. The Ananya Prakash and Natalie Williams team is 4-1 while the No. 1 duo of Emily Shutman and Farrehi is currently 3-2 in conference duals.

Women's tennis will look to continue its winning ways in conference as the Fords wrap up this week against McDaniel on Saturday. First serves in that match are slated for 1 p.m. on the Bettye Marshall Tennis Courts.
