Entire Women's Tennis Roster Earns ITA Scholar-Athlete Recognition

Full ITA Release

TEMPE, Ariz. - All nine members of the Haverford College women's tennis team were named Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Scholar-Athletes following the 2022 season, the coaches' organization announced in a release earlier this week.

The Fords were also recognized as an ITA All-Academic team in addition to those individual awards. This marks the 19th consecutive season that the women's tennis squad has been honored with an ITA All-Academic Team Award.
In order to earn the ITA All-Academic Award, teams must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.20 to receive the honor.

Within the sport of tennis, student-athletes continue to exceed expectations in the classroom and on the court. In 2022, 940 Division III Women's student-athletes were named an ITA Scholar-Athlete and 125 women's tennis programs were awarded the All-Academic Team distinction. This year's ITA Scholar-Athletes to represent Haverford included Anne Barrett, Ellie Esterowitz, Rachael Fitzgerald, Mimi Lavin, Emily Oh, Liv Pindzola, Abbey Russano, Anne Tobin, and Summer Williams. For student-athletes to earn ITA Scholar-Athlete status they must be a varsity letter winner and have a grade point average of at least 3.50 during the past academic year.

The academic recognition from the ITA matches earlier recognition the Fords received this year when all eligible student-athletes on the roster were named to the Centennial Conference Spring Academic Honor Roll.
