Arik Zeevy recently completed his first season as the Haverford College women’s tennis coach. In his first year, Zeevy led the Fords into the regional rankings and secured a victory over Washington College during the first round of the Centennial Conference Tournament. The Fords won 10 matches, a three win improvement, and had seven players recognized on the Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll.

Zeevy came to Haverford after spending four years as an assistant coach with both the men’s and women’s tennis teams at his alma mater, Stevens.

“The standard for academic and athletic excellence at Haverford makes it the ultimate destination for today's elite Division III student-athlete”, stated Zeevy at the time of his hiring. “I couldn't be more excited and optimistic about the future of Haverford women's tennis.”

“Arik brings a high level of enthusiasm for working not only with our women's tennis program but within the broader Haverford community,” explained Director of Athletics Wendy Smith ’87. “Arik is committed to providing a top level competitive experience both at the conference and national levels while supporting our student-athletes in their pursuit of excellence in all aspects of their Haverford career.”

The 2015-16 Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) National Assistant Coach of the Year for men’s tennis, Zeevy was instrumental in helping his alma mater to numerous program firsts during his time at Stevens. He coached the first ITA Champions and All-Americans on the women’s side as the team advanced to the Empire 8 Championship match in three of his four seasons.

Splitting his time with the men’s team, Zeevy helped guide Stevens to four straight Empire 8 Championships. This run of success included a national team ranking and appearance in the NCAA Sweet 16. His work with the men also produced a pair of ITA All-Americans. Zeevy was also very influential in bringing four consecutive nationally-ranked recruiting classes to Stevens.

A 2011 graduate of Stevens, Zeevy led the team to three NCAA Championship second round appearances during his time as a student-athlete. He graduated with a school record 134 combined wins between singles and doubles. Both his singles (68) and doubles (66) win totals ranked second in program history at the time of his graduation. He was a four-time first-team All-Empire 8 selection in singles and earned that same recognition three times in doubles. A three-year team captain, he was also named the Empire 8 Sportsman of the Year following his senior season.
