Rizzo Named Centennial Indoor Coach of the Year

HAVERFORD, Pa. Haverford College women's track & field head coach Fran Rizzo has been named the Centennial Conference Indoor Track & Field Coach of the Year. Rizzo's honor comes on top of eight All-Centennial Conference accolades for the Fords over this past weekend. Additionally, Elizabeth Reikowski was named to the conference's All-Sportsmanship team.

Rizzo guided the Fords to a second place finish in the team standings. Under Rizzo's watch, the Fords recorded a top-two team finish for the 16th time in 23 Centennial Indoor Championship appearances. With a team score of 115, the Fords' recorded their highest team score since the 2011 championship meet and the ninth highest team score at the conference meet in program history. It was a true team effort from the Fords as they received 21 different scoring performances over the two day meet. Haverford also had point scorers in 16 of the 18 contested events.

Rizzo's honor marks the sixth time the Centennial Conference has honored him as the Coach of the Year. His honor marks the second time during the indoor track & field season as he also earned that distinction following the 2010 championship. He has been name the Centennial Conference Coach of the Year in cross country three times (2009, 12, 13), and once during the outdoor track & field season (2013).

In addition to Rizzo's latest coaching accolades, individual honors were presented to the top three individuals in each event. First place finishers received first-team All-Centennial Conference honors. Second and third place finishers received second-team and honorable mention all-conference recognition, respectively.
