HAVERFORD, Pa. – The Haverford College women's indoor track & field team competed in another split weekend with a majority of the squad entering Ursinus' Frank Colden Invitational while three other individuals went to Ocean Breeze, New York for a second straight Villanova Invitational.

Highlighting the action at Ursinus, Katie Sullivan won the mile in a personal best time of 5:04.41. That time was over 10 seconds better than a runner-up finish from a Division I Delaware entrant. Another Delaware runner, along with a West Chester entrant, rounded out to the top four finishers in a tough field. Sullivan's time keeps her seventh in school history and currently ranks 10th in Division III this year as of press time. Sophie Drew (5:19.64) placed seventh in the mile, while Alison Champagne (6:12.38) was 31st.

MaryKate Cavanaugh finished as the runner-up in the 5,000 meters at Ursinus in a time of 19:36.78. Allison Hacker also turned in a top five performance with a time of 20:08.30. Up in New York, Nicole Giannetti competed in the 3,000 meters and placed 12th overall with a time of 10:08.73. That time would rank 17th in Division III this year but will be adjusted to account for the banked track. Amelia Keyser-Gibson was 24th in that same event with a time of 10:35.22.

The Fords also got a pair of personal bests in the sprints and hurdles. Taylor Murphy moved up to second in school history in the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 9.34 seconds in the preliminaries. She finished sixth in the final with a time of 9.51 seconds. Her PR time ranks second in school history only to eight-time All-American Aislinn Sowash '07. Sowash was an All-American in the short sprints all four years of both indoor and outdoor track and holds the school record currently with a mark of 9.19 seconds.

In the 60 meter dash, Marissa Antinori moved up to sixth in school history with a personal best time of 8.30 seconds. She placed 12th in that event, while Murphy was 15th with a mark of 8.33 seconds. Amy Zamora was Haverford's lone entrant in the 400 meters and finished 35th with a time of 1:07.04. Jolie Jaycobs was the Fords' top finisher in the 800 meters as she placed 11th with a time of 2:33.90.

Haverford also entered three relay teams with the 4x800 meter squad of Sarah Wade, Jacobs, Mariana Ramirez, and Mckenna Krall finishing runner-up in a time of 10:35.89. The 4x200 relay was fifth, while the 4x400 relay placed seventh.

Elizabeth Reikowski was the highest placing field athlete for Haverford with a triple jump leap of 11.92 meters. Grace Mathis broke her personal best in the pole vault as she cleared 2.88 meters (9-05.25). Mathis continues to rank fifth in school history in that event. Louise Bednarik nearly eclipsed her personal best in the pole vault as the cleared 2.13 meters. Clare Sargent also made the trip to New York where she placed 13th in the shot put (11.92 meters) and 22nd in the weigh throw (11.10 meters).
