HAVERFORD, Pa. – The Haverford College women's indoor track & field team had one final tune up before next week's Centennial Conference Championships as the Fords hosted the Keogh Invitational on Saturday. Claire Sargent won the shot put to highlight several top finishes from Haverford inside the Alumni Field House.

The defending Centennial Conference indoor champion in the shot put, Sargent topped many fellow conference foes who she may very well see in a week. Sargent's best toss of the afternoon came on her first attempt which was marked at 11.78 meters.

Haverford also had five runner-up finishes on the track. The closest margin between those entrants and first place was Marisa Antinori in the 60 meter dash. She finished with a personal best time in the event of 8.25 seconds and moved up to fifth in the College's record book, but was edged out by just one-hundredth of a second. Antinori was also fourth in the long jump (4.75 meters) and sixth in the 200 meters (28.03 seconds).

Tess Oberholtzer was the runner-up in the 60 meter hurdles as she crossed the line in a time of 9.91 seconds. Sophie Drew placed second in the 800 meters with a time of 2:26.45. Sarah Wade placed eighth in the 800 meters (2:33.26) as she was second in her heat.

Haverford's 4x200 and 4x400 relays also placed second. The 4x200 team featured Antinori in the lead off position with Taylor Murphy, Kerry Quigley, and Oberholtzer also on the relay. The time of 1:50.16 was topped only by Widener. The 4x400 relay (Oberholtzer, Amy Zamora, Elizabeth Reikowski, and Quigley) finished in a time of 4:26.23 and was topped only by Merchant Marine.

Zamora was also the Fords' top finisher in the 400 meters as she crossed the line in eighth place with a time of 1:06.09. Captain Allison Hacker led the mile entrants with a 16th place showing in a time of 5:53.43.

Women's indoor track & field will now begin final preparations for the Centennial Conference Championships next Saturday and Sunday at Ursinus. Saturday's action gets underway with field events beginning at 11:30 a.m. Outside of the pentathlon, the only events on the track Saturday will be the distance medley relay and 5,000 meters.
