COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – Nicole Giannetti broke the school record in the 3,000 meters to highlight Haverford's evening at the Ursinus Final Qualifying Meet.

Giannetti covered the 3,000 meter distance in a time in a time of 9:54.83. That mark made her the first runner in school history to finish in under 10 minutes for the event. Giannetti's time broke the previous school record of Fiona Hendry '16 (10:00.08) by five and a quarter seconds. It shatters the junior's previous personal best by almost 10 seconds and ranks her 17th in Division III as of press time. The top 17 declared times in each individual event qualify for the NCAA Championships.

In addition to Giannetti, Katie Sullivan still holds the fourth fastest time in Division III in the mile as the Fords look to qualify two individuals.

Two men, Greg Morgan and Liam Lynch, also competed for the Fords on Friday. Lynch finished in a season-best time of 1:57.60. Morgan finished second in the mile with a time of 4:18.06. His personal best time of 4:16.62 in the mile currently ranks 33rd in Division III. The top 15 declared entrants qualify for individual events on the men's side.

Haverford's best chance to qualify on the men's side appears to rest with Henry Woods. Woods' time of 8:25.49 in the 3,000 meters is currently the 18th fastest mark in Division III. The Fords also have the 13th quickest distance medley relay with the top 12 declared teams accepted for relay events.

Qualifiers to the national meet will be announced in the coming days as the NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships are set for Friday, March 10 and Saturday, March 11 in Naperville, Ill.
