NCAA Indoor Championship Schedule

HAVERFORD, Pa. – Katie Sullivan will represent the Haverford College women's indoor track & field team at the Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships for the second straight season. Sullivan, a qualifier in the mile, will get her national championship meet underway on Friday, March 10 with the preliminaries while the finals of that event are scheduled for Saturday, March 11. Both races are scheduled for 1 p.m. starts.

A year ago, Sullivan was one of four Haverford runners on the team's distance medley relay that placed third at the national meet to earn All-America status. This weekend's event will mark her fourth appearance at a national championship. In addition to her two indoor championship appearances, Sullivan has also been to the Division III Cross Country Championships during the past two seasons.

Haverford has now sent a runner to the NCAA indoor national championships in each of the past three seasons. Sullivan will be the program's fourth qualifier in the mile. Additionally, the Fords qualified four runners when the race was contested at the 1,500 meter distance. Nora Weathers '16 finished 11th in the trials during the 2015 season as Haverford's most recent entrant in the mile.

Annick Lamar '08 was Haverford's first All-American in the mile during the 2008 season when she placed fourth overall. Meredith Unger '97 and Emily Dorean '97 also earned All-America honors at the 1,500 meter distance during their season seasons with their respective third and sixth place finishes.

Sullivan qualified to the mile with the fourth fastest time in Division III this season. Her mark of 4:56.30 won the Centennial Conference individual title and is within a half second of the school record that is currently held by Katie Balmer '15. In total, Sullivan is a three-time conference champion in track & field as she won the 800 meters in both seasons as a sophomore. The junior captain is a six-time All-Centennial Conference performer between each of the three running seasons.

The top 17 declared entrants will enter the mile preliminaries on Friday and be split into two heats. The top three finishers in each heat, plus the next four fastest times, will advance to the finals on Saturday. All-America status will be awarded to the top eight finishers in Saturday's final.
