NAPERVILLE, Ind. – Katie Sullivan became a two-time All-American with her eighth place finish in the mile of the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships. Sullivan finished in a time of 4:56.62, just 32-hundredths of a second off her personal best that had her as the fourth seed in the event entering the weekend.

Sullivan was right in the mix as just less than two-tenths of a second separated the fifth through ninth place finishers heading into the final lap. Sullivan saved her best for last as her time of 35.70 seconds on the final lap was her quickest of the eight lap event. That kick to the finish ended up beating out Brandeis' Emily Bryson by four-tenths of a second to secure the eighth and final All-America position.

The junior co-captain is now a two-time All-American as she was also a member of Haverford's third place distance medley relay at the national indoor meet last year. She is the Fords' second indoor All-American in the mile, joining Annick Lamar '08 who placed fourth in 2008. Haverford also had four All-Americans when the event was contested at the 1,500 meter distance indoors.

With the official conclusion of the indoor track & field season, the Fords are scheduled to begin their outdoor campaign on Saturday, March 25 at the Golden Rams Invitational on the campus of West Chester.
