COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – The Haverford College women's indoor track & field team got five scoring performances and sent two runners to Sunday's event finals on the opening day of the Centennial Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships. Those performances have the Fords in fourth place after the first day of competition with 27 points.

Amelia Keyser-Gibson turned in the highest scoring performance of the day for Haverford as she finished runner-up in the 5,000 meters with a personal-best time of 17:29.88. That PR moves her up to fourth in the College's indoor record book and makes her a three-time All-Centennial Conference performer during the indoor track season. The Fords also got season PRs in that event from Alison Love (19:46.50) and Angie Petrichenko (19:48.72) to place 15th and 16th, respectively, while Julia Smith (20:09.94) was right behind them in the final standings.

Not scoring on Saturday, but putting themselves into the event finals where they will score on Sunday were first years Jessica Lopez and Kat Turner. Lopez matched her personal-best time of 8.21 seconds in the 60 meter dash to finish fifth overall in the heat races. Turner turned in a season-best time of 9.85 seconds in the 60 meter hurdles to snag the final qualifying spot. She trimmed 15-hundredths of a second off her previous best and now has the eighth fastest time in school history.

Haverford also had two scoring performances in the triple jump as Lopez matched her seed with her best leap being marked at 10.08 meters to place fourth overall. Kerry Quigley improved her seed by three spots, placing sixth with a personal-best leap of 9.95 meters. Turner made it a trio of top 10 performances as her best leap was 9.43 meters.

The Fords finished the day with two high scoring relays as the DMR team of Hannah Yeakey, Molly Hawkins, Jolie Jaycobs, and Sophie Drew placed third overall with a time of 12:32.73. That mark makes that team the ninth fastest DMR team in school history. The 4x200 relay of Marisa Antinori, Lopez, Turner, and Quigley followed that up with a fourth-place finish in a time of 1:51.53.

The Centennial Conference indoor track & field championships will wrap up on Sunday. Haverford's first event will be the mile at noon where Keyser-Gibson is the top-ranked runner entering the conference meet.
