LANCASTER, Pa. – The Haverford College women's indoor track & field team picked up three runner-up finishes on Sunday and totaled 10 more scoring performances on day two of the Centennial Conference Championships as the Fords finished in fourth place with 82 points. Although not reflected in the final team placement, Haverford scored six more points at this year's championship compared to the 2018 season when the Fords were the Centennial Conference runner up in the final team standings.

Two of the Fords' runner-up performances came from Jessica Lopez. Lopez started her day with a second place finish in the 60 meter dash. She finished that event final in a time of 7.98 seconds, a mark that was just three-hundredths of a second off of her personal best from yesterday's heat races. Lopez followed that up with a career-best time of 26.26 seconds during a second place finish in the 200 meters. That time beat her previous best by nearly seventh-tenths of a second and ranks her third in school history.

Wrapping up the day with a pair of relays, Haverford also took home second place in the 4x800 relay. That relay of Molly Hawkins, Griffin Kaulbach, Jolie Jaycobs, and Sophie Drew crossed the line in a time of 9:40.70 to rank as the seventh fastest relay in school history. The four members of the Fords' 4x800 relay will join Lopez in earning second-team All-Centennial Conference recognition for their finishes. Haverford capped its day with a fourth place finish in the 4x400 relay as Jasmine Reed, Lopez, Ruanna Small, and Julia Coletti crossed the line in a time of 4:15.07.

Fiona Flynn brought home the bronze medal in the long jump and will earn honorable mention All-CC accolades after her best leap was marked at 4.97 meters (16'-3.75"). That mark ties her for eighth in the College's record books. Kerry Quigley just missed replicating her scoring performance from a year ago with a ninth place finish in that same event (4.60 meters; 15-1.25"). Sophia Nelson, Marisa Antinori, and Naomi Fukuda claimed the 13th, 15th, and 18th best marks for that event.

In addition to anchoring the runner-up 4x800 relay, Drew started her day by turning in a fourth place finish in the mile as she crossed the line with a time of 5:09.34. The Fords also got scoring performances on the track from Tess Oberholtzer and Amalia Axinn. Oberholtzer was eighth in the 60 meter hurdles, crossing the line in 10.04 seconds during that event final. Axinn led the Fords in the 800 meters, also placing eighth in her event with a time of 2:28.31. Mariana Ramirez also competed in the 800 meters as she finished with a time of 2:35.52. Small also recorded a 12th place finish for the Fords in the 400 meters (1:03.40).

The Fords added two more scoring performances in the shot put to increase the team's final total. After setting the school record in the weight throw on Saturday, Unique Tuberville set another personal best in this event as well as her throw was marked at 10.71 meters (35'-1.75"). That mark solidified her spot at No. 9 in Haverford's indoor record book. Mari Horton was seventh in that same event as her best toss measured 10.58 meters (34'-8.50").

The 2019 Centennial Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships also served as a battle for Hood Trophy Points with rival Swarthmore. Although the Garnet placed second at the meet to edge Haverford's women, the Fords took the men's point. Haverford now leads that friendly rivalry by a 5.5 – 4.5 point advantage with eight more points up for grabs during the spring sports season.
