Petrichenko & DMR Win Event Titles at Collegeville Classic for Women's Track & Field

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – The Haverford College women's track & field team had a very strong outing at the Collegeville Classic on the campus of Ursinus on Saturday. Angie Petrichenko won the individual title in the 5,000 meters while Haverford's distance medley relay of Amalia Axinn, Jasmine Reed, Griffin Kaulbach, and Sheena Dwyer-McNulty also finished first in that event.

The 5,000 meter race was a 1-2 finish for the Fords with Petrichenko crossing the line in a time of 18:48.97. Teammate Ellie Keating was second in that field as she posted a time of 20:13.60. Jolie Jaycobs added a runner-up finish in the 3,000 meter event, finishing with a time of 10:57.27. Eva White just missed a top 10 place in that event with a time of 12:34.63.

Haverford's championship performance in the DMR came across the line in 13:11.24. The three longest legs of the Fords' DMR competed solely in that event while Reed also entered the 400 meter dash were she was eighth (1:05.14). Teammate Jahsaiah Moses was third in that same event (1:02.51) as the top collegiate finisher in the race.

Izzy Miller ran to a third-place finish in the mile to continue Haverford's success. She crossed the line in a time of 5:28.34. Zoe Arditi (6:13.74), Maggie Doubman (6:14.99), Annemarie Wood (6:26.40), Rhea Chandran (6:37.11) and Kristen Min (6:56.44) also competed in that event which featured the largest contingent of Fords. Wrapping up the mid-distance events, Lauren Tanel was seventh in the 800 meters (2:32.26) while Sophie Schleifer (2:47.07) was 19th in that same event.

Marisa Antinori had a busy day for the Fords as her highest placement came in the long jump where she was 15th with her best mark of 4.44 meters (33'10.25"). Antinori also ran the 60 meters (8.64 seconds) and 200 meters (29.29 seconds). Mari Horton led Haverford's throwing contingent with an 11th-place finish in the shot put (10.32 meters; 33'-10.25"). Unique Tuberville was 14th in that same event with her best throw measuring 10.02 meters (32'-10.5").

Women's indoor track & field will host its first meet of the spring season this coming Thursday inside the Alumni Field House beginning at 4:30 p.m. Haverford will also have runners head to the Armory on Friday for the NYU Invitational which is slated to get underway at 1 p.m.
